ITALIAN FLAVOURS

Had a few Italian bikes in the past Laverda Jota being my favourite even when I was lying under it at a set of lights in London I had filtered up to the lights and as my foot went down I realised the tarmac next to me had been scraped back for repairs as I was always on tiptoe on the tall top heavy beast I just toppled over very uncool. A Guzzi Le Mans made a brief appearance but I couldn't get comfortable on it rode it down to Street in Devon from London

and was in agony the year before I did the same journey on a hardtail chop no problem very odd. A 600 Ducati Pantah was bought ridiculously cheaply from an Aussie who was returning home mainly for my Girlfriend to use she left a few months later after my mate Jerry & I both had a Friday of work and decided Amsterdam was a good destination for a ride she wasn't happy on Sunday night when I got back the Pantah went shortly after at a tidy profit so result. The reason behind these ramblings is I fancied another Italian bike visions of blasting across Romney Marsh on balmy summer nights filled my head till I looked around at prices and realised my head is more full of dreams than my wallet is with money. I console myself with a picture of the magnificent beast of Breganze and a Espresso Doppio.

Twin Cams

Ridden a lot over the past few months in search of a mile muncher all 96" because I hated the 88" TC and have decided I don't like injection ABS or the hot running on a stock bike. The need to stage one to get the best out of the bike is still necessary the Suspension still benefits a lot from uprating on the Dynas and Tourers. The brakes are still marginal on a lot of models the Switchback 2 up was terrible under hard braking. The Tourers seem to have benefited most the chassis upgrades ABS injection suit that style of bike. The end result of these test rides is that I am saying no to Twinkies and going looking for an old friend to make into the bike I want.
